$102.85 in roaming charges even when the roaming service is turned off? That seems to be only possible with the G1. This was found out after one G1 owner reported the incident to T-Mobile, the owner's service provider.
In response, T-Mobile answered him that G1 continues to access the Internet even if the roaming services are turned off. This is probably due to the G1's close relation with Google Accounts.
I'm having a similar problem with my brand-new G1. I just bought it in Berlin on a Pay-As-You-Go plan, starting with the minimal 10 Euros loaded onto the sim card. It's less than 2 hours later and I've already spent 3+ euros without ever having placed a call or done more than sent a single one line eMail. The credit on the account just seems to be leaking away. At the current rate, it would cost $5,000/yr just to keep the phone powered on.
