Global Unlock specializes in providing consumers with complete cell phone unlock solutions for over 2,000 different GSM mobile phone models around the world
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Two Reason 1. I had a problem and figured others did to, so to help add value to other people who were facing the same issue I was 2. I needed to pay off my large balance on my student loans. Four years later, I quit my job and am now pursuing this website full time.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Starting of 2004 and it was fot this business of unlocking phones.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Something that said I serve people worldwide (hence www,globalunlock).
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Service, all about servicing your clients and making it as easy as possible for them. You can see the mission statement at www.globalunlock.com
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To build it to a 6 figure level income and automate it, then find another way to help add value to others.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Very successful, as I stated, I had to pay off 35k when I started 4 years ago, that was done in 2 years and now I am just growing everyday.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Hire people do help add value to more and more people in different businesses
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Automating everything to respond to customers as fast as possible
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Fraud, that huge amount of fraud, but I think I have come good at making sure it does not continue. Once fraudster foundout I accepted one order, they kepts with a whole series of them and I ended up paying the bill on it.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Well, back in 2004 the credit card processing company went down and no company wanted to touch what I did since it was a grey area niche market at that time.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Google adwords and word of mouth
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Well I am still doing it (full time now) 4 years later, I was expecting it to be a short term thing.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Earlt 2004. I will keep it up until the big cell phone providers unlock all phones they give, so no need to add that value to customers.
