and it sure as hell ain't packet8 calling. (they ignored my message on 10/21 and marked it as a duplicate). Also most important is the last message: "I see that your account was re activated". All the while they are blaming the problem on me, my isp, my router, etc. Yet, they secretly (so as their customer service and tech support wouldn't know it, deactivated my account). The service worked fine with my ISP for 1-1/2 years before 10/20/06 (except for some other packet8 problems) and it worked fine after 10/26/06 with the same ISP, network configuration, etc. My Oct bill doesn't show a weeks worth of credit they agreed to provide. I am certainly glad I am not an investor in Packet8 Added 10/23/2006 10:02AM Hole Nguyen Summary Hello,Thank you for contacting Packet8 Custome Details Hello, Thank you for contacting Packet8 Customer Support. We apologize for any inconvenience you may be experiencing. Please unplug your adapter for 15 seconds, plug the adapter back in and wait thirty seconds, and then check and see if you have dialtone. You will thn unplug the adapter while continuing to hold the reset button. Plug the adapter back in, still holding reset, and you should see the lights blinking like a christmas tree. After a few seconds the lights will blink in sequence. When you see the lights blinking in sequence, let go of reset. Wait for 30 seconds and then check for dialtone. do NOT use the reset method if you have set your adapter up with a static ip. If these do not work, simply unplug (power down) your modem, router and Packet8 adapter for 5 minutes. Plug in the Modem first and wait until it is done initializing. Plug in your router next and wait about 1 minute. Finally, power the adapter back up and wait about 1 more minute. Check, and you should have dialtone once more. Be sure your internet connection is working properly before attempting this. If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again. I have had Packet 8 as my VOIP provider for two years, since 2005. I have successfully used it in the Philippines, New Zealand and Australia. I have never had an issue with their customer service. They have always assisted me in a prompt and orderly fashion. However, when I set up a call center for a friend, in Cebu City, I had to deal with the worse customer service and tech support that I have ever seen, with Vonage. Pbx Phone Skype and Yahoo both proffer unloose PC-to-PC calling, but one key conflict should be wise here. Skype requires that both parties somebody the Skype guest, but unbound vocation with Yahoo is bloodsucking upon both parties using Character Traveller. Comment #3 Justin at 02/24/08 10:20
I had issues with Packet 8 for calls dropped and i got the same response for over 3 months. The answers are very vague and contain no useful information. I had prepaid for the year of service and when i finally decided to cancel" per their terms and conditions you for fit the remainder of your payment when you prepay." Finally after over 1 year of this crap i got a refund of the - the activation charge and 3 months of service. I think the total was 160. I now just use my sprint cell phone and will never try/use any other voip service. All of this comes after being a sun rocket customer for 1 year and 2 months. I prepaid for 1 year of service with them also but there i didn't get any kind of refund so i lost 10+ months with of my payment. PACKET 8 Services SUCK! Comment #4 Angel at 07/01/08 07:45
PACKET8 has put us into phone hell also. Ever since we switched to Packet8 2 months ago, our calls are not coming through and the voice quality is horrible! The other day I called our office from an offsite location ten times and only got through once! And when the phone was answered, it sounded like the receptionist was underwater. Calling Packet8 customer service is another joke. You get a person who represents himself as "Manager of Customer Escalation" who agrees you are experiencing dire problems and promises you immediate attention and informs you that they have identified the problem and that it will be rectified within 5-7 days. As the 7 day deadline approaches, you are suddenly contacted by a different Customer Escalation Representative who tells you all about the same problem once again, and they are going to correct it in 5-7 days, which now strings you out another week past the first date they promised you. At some point a reasonable person realizes there is no end in site and that Packet8 is just stringing you along. PACKET8 IS A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!
