BT, giant telecoms have assured the broadband breakdowns won't happen again like in the past two years in the rural Shetland.

The company pointed to the charged card in the Glasgow to Highland link that allowed phone calls while blocking data block triggered the regular outages.

BT had already replaced the system of charged card and improved their fault reporting system by creating a new hotline between the company and various ISPs.
