CNN is blather away today (well, actually on June 22) about the iphone being set to ring up profits; "Consumers -- not to mention many tech writers and investors -- expect the iPhone to be a superior, standard-setting device. In other words, the iPod of cell phones."Blah blah blah. I could care less. The iphone is the last product I care to try. Why?
Simply because my experiences with itunes on my pc. The only thing I desire with itunes is to get it off my computer as fast as possible.
I think the iphone hype is a result of brandnames being more important than a quality product with excellent functionality. Maybe the iphone has all that but you'd never know with the cult like hype surrounding in.
You can go buy (and use) an iphone if you like... and be a member of some absurd Apple cult.... maybe one day the ringing iphone will be a subliminal signal for you to go do something bad... don't forget Jonestown!
And... maybe your iphone will be locked too... so you can switch to a different cult (as if they will keep you their customer).
In my view Apple Computer has gone downhill since the Apple II system.
